Blogging in conference
Post @ 10:34 in
Last day conference in SXSW interactive. Attendees seems kind of tired, likewise, I am tired to talk and present. My business card are totally sent out. I took 50 cards with me before this conference. It seems all things are out of my expectation. I am sitting in the conference room and listening Bruce sterling's Presentation. Also joined a online chat-room chatting with other guys who are sitting in the same room. Bruce is talking about globalization happen everywhere around us. That's true. Through the whole conference I meet a lot of people from all around the world: Japan, Korea, Hongkong, Taiwan ect. although there just a few asian people, I didn't see any communication problems.
I attend "The future of wireless device" panel this morning. Speaker introduced a next generation wireless standard WiMax which is IEEE 802.16, 7x faster and 1000x farther than Wi-Fi IEEE 803.11b standard, Range to 30 miles (50km). Wow, you can't imagine how wireless going on in the future. After the panel I talked with peter rojas who is the fonder of Gizmodo.com, the best gadgets weblog. And I am also expecting to join today's keynote speaker jonathan Abrams who is the fonder and CEO of Friendster.com. His panel is "What the hell is social networking."
Since SXSW cancel the power outlet policy, geeks can get the power in any outlet. But there just a few outlet in each conference room, whole batch of laptops need to plug to it. Fortunately some geeks took a power extension which can extend to support more laptops. Really cool. I plugged in one guy's power extension and I wanna say thanks for his help!

hi owen,也许我都快变成不受欢迎的抓错者了。不错,文中的“803.11b standard“,也许应该是“802.11b standard”。 WiMax 看上去很诱人,wireless标准必定是未来的趋势。
